The Most Loving Sight

Nothing says, “I love you” quite
Like messy floor, or catching sight
Of rolling boys engaged in fight
Or blankets left on heated lights
Or questions asked whene’er I write
Or brothers dropped from dang’rous height
Right after showing bruise and bite
When #4 showed tooth and might
When #1 gave him a fright…
But mostly it’s the day’s highlight
When, tired and sore, I sneak at night
And find them sleeping

…By midnight.
