I’ve read that finding happiness in life can be a matter of lowering expectations.
I haven’t got much lower I can go with that, so has anyone else got any ideas?

Actually, yes. I’ve found a marked difference in how I feel after playing my gratitude game. Saying thank you out loud to your belongings makes you look crazy, but it really helps. Give it a try if you dare. Just push through the sarcasm and the feelings of stupidity. And maybe wait till all your kids are at school.

I have read that finding ‘meaning in life’ is more important than finding ‘happiness in life’. Happiness is to be found in those unexpected moments.

Great post! As a parent, I hear constant revelatory statements in my head, such as, ‘so THAT’s why dad looked so pissed off all the time’.

Ah. That would be my attempts at being more ecological. Fewer plastic sacks in the boys’ lunches and all that.
